Support for bereaved families following police-related deaths: Identifying best practice

Travel to learn, return to inspire.

— Winston Churchill Memorial Trust

A Churchill Fellowship provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to expand professional and personal horizons by conducting research internationally with global leaders. To put it simply, the goal of the Churchill Fellowship is to ‘travel to learn, return to inspire’.

I will be spending six weeks in Canada researching support for bereaved families following police-related deaths. I will visit six police oversight bodies across six different territories in order to review data, speak with families, conduct interviews and visit the organisations they work alongside.

To keep informed about my journey as a 2020 Churchill Fellow, follow my blog and Twitter account (ektilley) and please get in touch if you want to know more.
